Membership Benefits
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the Pennsylvania Chapter of ACEP (PaACEP) is YOUR professional association that has a demonstrated track record of representing emergency physicians' interests. Becoming a member will:
Improve Your Practice
- ACEP was emergency medicine’s sole representative on the AMA committee that reviewed RVUs. ACEP gained a significant increase in work values for emergency department E/M codes, thus gaining a 2% to 5% increase in collections, which could mean up to $10,000 per physician
- ACEP put more money in your pocket with significant reimbursement wins. As emergency medicines only representative on the committees that have input into reimbursement rates, ACEP's work made possible a 4% increase in Medicare payments for 2009.
- ACEP represented you in CMS' development of quality measures, which are currently used in a voluntary pay-for-reporting program and likely will be used in the future for mandatory programs.
- ACEP played a leadership role in lobbying Congress to allocate $30 million in funding for trauma care system planning and development
