  • Ellwood City Hospital 3/18/2008

    A small community hospital located in the rolling hills of Western Pennsylvania, approximately 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh (consistently highly rated in the Places Rated Almanac). The Emergency Department is seeking a full-time emergency physician beginning May 1, when our substantial expansion and renovation will be completed. The ED sees an annual volume of about 14,000 (average 40/ 24 hours or 1.6 patients /hour) with a low incidence of major trauma. Shifts are 12 hours with the option for some 24 hour shifts. Physicians work as independent contractors for the contract holder, Ellwood Emergency Physicians, Inc. Compensation, starting at $105/hour, includes paid malpractice insurance (claims-made with tail). Preferred candidates will be residency trained in EM and/or ABEM certified, OR residency trained and board certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with ACLS, ATLS, PALS certifications and a minimum of 2 years of full-time ED experience.
