2008 ACEP Workforce Study Mailed. Deadline extended to August 29!

ACEP, with support from SAEM, CORD-EM, GE Healthcare, ENA, and EMRA, is conducting its third national Workforce Study. The goal of the study, like the previous two, is to describe the current status of the Emergency Medicine workforce in the United States. For the first time, we will also examine ED nurse staffing issues. We are working with Booz Allen Hamilton, a recognized industry leader on workforce issues and a leading global consulting firm.

With your assistance and encouragement, we can make this EM workforce study the most successful of its kind. The higher our response rate, the more powerful our arguments will be when discussing EM workforce issues with legislators, government officials, regulatory agencies and the media.

This survey has been sent to randomly selected hospital EDs, to be completed by the ED Medical Director and the ED Nurse Manager (two different and complementary surveys). Please encourage your ED colleague to complete the survey as well.

Please complete this survey by August 15th.

You will have the option of completing the survey online, or in paper format.  You will receive a letter with instructions on how to access the survey online, and a printed version of the survey will also be included for your convenience to help you in gathering the information requested. When you are ready to begin the survey, please log-in at the top of the screen. This survey has been streamlined compared to previous studies, and certain information has been pre-populated for your convenience.

If you have any questions about the workforce study overall, please contact David McKenzie at ACEP at (800) 798-1822, ext 3233. If you have questions about the survey or problems with the web-site, please contact Eric Kidwell at Booz Allen Hamilton at (703) 984-7583.

Thank you for your participation.
