Chapter Member featured on Public TV to discuss gun violence

L. Albert Villarin, MD, Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Albert Einstein Medical Center, was asked to participate in a taping of a Pennsylvania Public Television Network Program, IssuesPA 2008.  This program, which is broadcast statewide, offers diverse viewpoints on issues affecting Pennsylvania voters, their families and communities.  The Chapter was invited to participate in a program dealing with health care issues.  Dr. Villarin's segment focused on how gun violence is affecting both access to and the cost of health care.  Gun violence is often thought of as a criminal justice issue, but many doctors and politicians say the epidemic of gun-related crime is also a public health crisis.  Dr. Villarin did an excellent job representing our Chapter and we appreciate his willingness to volunteer his time.
The program will be broadcast on the following dates:

Thursday, May 8 at 8pm on WITF in Harrisburg, Channel 33
Sunday, May 11 at 1pm on WHYY in Philadelphia, Channel 12
Thursday, May 15 at 8pm on WQED in Pittsburgh , Channel 13
