The best airway course available anywhere!

What makes this course unique?

This course is not a parade of every difficult airway device – it is an in-depth look at effective approaches to airway management that you will actually use in your next intubation and difficult airway in the ED. There is a unique focus on airway anatomy and imaging combined with a unique opportunity to practice the techniques on non-embalmed cadavers. The overall goal of the course is to develop the skills and strategies that promote patient safety and increase provider confidence.

Course Benefits:

  • Full Day, Hands-on Procedural Training with Fresh Cadavers
  • Limited Class Size – 16 cadavers for 16 participants
  • Secrets of first pass laryngoscopy success
  • Fiberoptic augmentation of every laryngoscopy
  • A practical airway algorithm based on the route of intubation and RSI decision making
  • Rescue ventilation and rescue intubation techniques
  • Included course textbook: The Airway Cam Guide to Intubation and Practical Emergency Airway Management

Target Audience:

The course is tailored to emergency physicians, but critical care physicians, hospitalists, and pre-hospital personnel are welcome.

Course Disclaimer:

The course is planned to have 16 cadavers for the 16 participants, with each participant having the experience to practice repeat laryngoscopy and other techniques on each cadaver, as well as surgical airways on their own specimen. The 1:1 ratio of cadavers to participants has been achieved in approximately 95% of our prior courses. It is possible a 1:1 ratio of cadavers to participants may not occur. In such instances, the initial surgical procedures will be prioritized to registrants in the order in which they were enrolled. All participants will get to do each procedure; however, some persons may need to use the tracheal spaces instead of the cricothyroid membrane. The final cadaver count is not known until the day before the class.
