We would like to introduce you to an exceptional opportunity to practice Emergency Medicine in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania is seeking additional residency-trained Emergency Medicine physicians to join our dynamic team of 13 hospital-based physicians. We are the recognized regional referral center and leaders in the provision of Emergency and Trauma Care services for the residents of this Tri-State region (Northwest Pennsylvania, Southwest New York, Northeast Ohio). Some attributes of a position with our hospital-employed group follow:
Hamot Medical Center is a 343-bed tertiary care hospital and fully accredited Level II Trauma Center. Hamot is consistently an award winning hospital, most notably being recognized nationally by Solucient as a 2006 “Top 100 Hospital” and a US News & World Report “Top 50 Hospital for Heart and Heart Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery”. Hamot is the academic training hospital for the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine here in Erie. The Medical Staff has over 300 physicians representing most specialties and subspecialties and we have residency training programs in Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurology.
The Emergency Department volume is currently over 60,000 patients per year and is growing. Physician coverage is 49 hours per day with 12 hours separate physician staffing in the minor emergency area (Express Care). Physician extenders are used for additional coverage in both areas 24 hours/day. We treat a diverse patient population with moderate to high acuity. Our new 25,000 square foot “state of the art” Emergency Department has 35 private patient rooms including 3 dedicated trauma resuscitation rooms, “point of care” testing lab, and on-site radiology and CT suites. We also have a patient tracking system, bedside registration, and in-house dictation. There is also opportunity for teaching within our Emergency Medicine residency program.
